Quickie

Bobbi requested an update, so this will be a quickie.

We had a great and challenging time at Lake Atitlan. More on that soon. We packed up the apartment yesterday and spent a wonderful evening out to dinner with new friends. The walk around Antigua all lit up was bittersweet.

This morning we will finish packing, Alfredo will pick up up after lunch, and we will head to Luciana's 6th "home" in a month! We will be staying at the Grand Tikal in Guatemala City. Our embassy appointment is TOMORROW! I just can't make myself believe that! We will pick up our Visa on the 6th, and fly HOME on the 7th.

We arrive in Maine sometime between 11 and midnight. Luciana will see her first snow before arriving to our home that will be forever changed. Yippie!

Saturday, we plan to sleep!

It has been nearly impossible to email or update the blog this week... sorry! It has just been so wonderful to be all together and the computer hasn't gotten much attention. (hee hee)

We had many people recommend the Grand Tikal (thanks Donna) and it seems like a place that Sam will have a blast. My big boy deserves to PLAY! I am so proud of him, and it is time for him to get home and have playdates! He is so ready to see his friends... so friends, when we are home, do not hesitate to call Sammy to invite him to play... he hasn't had a friend his age in a MONTH!

We, too, are really looking forward to spending time with friends and family. We know you are all so anxious to meet Luciana after all these months. We can't wait to make some time to get together with everyone.

So, it is time to begin another adventure... our journey back to the city for the final time. Stay tuned!

Much love.

I can only imagine the mixed emotions you are feeling as you say goodbye to Guatemala (for now) and begin your journey back home. We are thinking of you and wishing you safety, peace and love.

Take care -

Thanks for the update!! What shall I ask for next.........(heehee)

I hope that you have a wonderful last few days. Soak up the sun and warmth.

It will be nice to have you back in Maine. Lucy will love it here.

Sam, I hope you have lots of fun with your friends. It will be nice to be home again. You have been a real trooper by the sounds.

Embassy Day--oh, how we wondered if the day would ever come. Though usually uneventful, it is a special day. I remember it so well.

I could go on, but will do that soon enough on the PHONE lines!! Yeah!!!

Take care and travel safe. Lots of Love from Maine.

Safe travels back to the city! I still think about and miss Antigua, we'll have to reunite there one day!

Enjoy the Tikal, enjoy the breakfast buffet, enjoy the pool, enjoy the mall, enjoy the staff! Please tell Giovanni (one of the doormen) Hello from us!

And I don't know about Bobbi's version of an "uneventful" embassy day, ours was LONG, hot and boring! Pack well! And take a picture before you leave for the embassy...no camera's allowed there and you may be too hot and tired later!

Okay, no more advice...enjoy!

Good advice on the picture. We didn't get one, and yup, by the time we got back we didn't CARE if we had one!! (which we don't)
